TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Boston AI University delivers all certification programs through a sophisticated virtual learning environment that combines synchronous instruction, collaborative activities, self-paced learning, and hands-on practice. To ensure a seamless learning experience, participants should meet the following technical requirements.

Device Requirements

Participation in Boston AI University certification programs requires a reliable computer system that supports interactive learning activities and virtual collaboration. While our platform is designed to be accessible across various device configurations, the following specifications are recommended for optimal learning experience.

A reliable computer with the following minimum specifications:

  • Processor: Intel Core i5 (8th generation or newer) or      AMD Ryzen 5 (3000 series or newer)
  • Memory: 8GB RAM minimum, 16GB RAM recommended
  • Storage: At least 10GB of available storage space
  • Operating System: Windows 10/11, macOS 11 (Big Sur) or      newer, or recent Linux distribution
  • Display: 1080p resolution (1920 x 1080) minimum

A high-quality webcam and microphone are essential for full participation in interactive sessions. While built-in webcams and microphones are sufficient for most participants, a dedicated headset with microphone provides superior audio quality and reduces background noise, enhancing the collaborative learning experience.

A stable, high-speed internet connection is critical for effective participation. We recommend:

  • Download speed: Minimum 10 Mbps, recommended 25+ Mbps
  • Upload speed: Minimum 3 Mbps, recommended 5+ Mbps
  • Latency: Less than 100ms
  • Wired connection preferred over WiFi when possible for      greater stability

While not required, dual monitors significantly enhance the learning experience by allowing simultaneous viewing of instructional content and hands-on activities. Participants with single monitors can still fully participate but may need to switch between windows more frequently.

Software Access

Boston AI University has designed its program infrastructure to minimize local software requirements, with most specialized tools and environments provided through cloud-based platforms accessible via web browsers.

Participants should have a current version of Chrome, Firefox, or Edge browser. Chrome is recommended for optimal compatibility with our learning platform. Browser extensions should be minimal to avoid potential conflicts with learning platform functionality.

All specialized software required for certification programs is provided through our cloud-based virtual environments, eliminating the need for complex local installations. These environments are pre-configured with all necessary tools, libraries, and datasets for program activities.

Our learning management system is accessible 24/7 for course materials, recordings, assignments, and collaboration. The platform includes integrated communication tools, document sharing capabilities, and progress tracking features that support the learning journey.

For convenient review of course materials between sessions, mobile access is available through iOS and Android applications. While the full functionality of interactive labs requires a computer, readings, videos, and discussions are fully accessible on mobile devices.

Virtual lab environments are designed to closely mimic real-world implementation contexts, with all necessary tools and resources pre-configured. These environments provide sandbox spaces for experimenting with concepts and techniques without risk to production systems.

Timezone Flexibility

As a 100% virtual institution serving a global student community, Boston AI University has designed its programs with timezone flexibility as a core consideration.

Live sessions are scheduled with global participation in mind, with most programs offering multiple session options for each topic. This approach ensures that participants from different regions can attend live sessions during reasonable hours in their local timezone.

All live sessions are recorded and made available within 24 hours, allowing participants who cannot attend synchronously to review the content at convenient times. These recordings include all demonstrations, discussions, and collaborative activities from the session.

For participants in regions with challenging timezone alignment, we provide alternative engagement paths that combine asynchronous content review with scheduled one-on-one sessions with faculty. This approach ensures that all participants receive equivalent learning experiences regardless of location.

Our teaching assistant team spans multiple time zones, ensuring that support is available during extended hours. This global support structure allows participants to receive assistance with assignments and technical issues without excessive delays regardless of their location.

Virtual office hours with faculty are scheduled across different time blocks to accommodate participants in various regions. Additional one-on-one sessions can be arranged for participants who cannot attend regular office hours due to timezone constraints.
